CENTRE PHILOSOPHY

At Baldivis ELC, we exist to create opportunities for children to flourish and grow in body, mind and spirit – building the foundations they need for school, for relationships and for life.

DEVELOPING SCHOOL READINESS

We offer an evidence-based School ReadY program in our Kindy room. Designed for children ages 3 to 5, the program builds essential literacy, language, social-emotional, and numeracy skills, helping them flourish at school and in life. A Literacy Specialist partners with the team and provides regular coaching to strengthen delivery of the School ReadY program.

PROGRAM FOCUS

PROGRAMS FOR LITTLE LEARNERS

Our programs support each child’s interests and development, with a focus on:

Wellbeing: We place a strong emphasis on social and emotional development, ensuring every child feels safe, secure, and supported as they grow into confident individuals
Play-based learning: We encourage children to follow their interests, build confidence, and develop essential life skills in a supportive and engaging environment
School ReadY: A specialised program in our Kindy rooms for children aged 3 to 5 that builds literacy, numeracy (STEM), and social-emotional skills, preparing them for school and life

We also run:

Kindy lunch box day: Once a month, children bring a healthy, packed lunch to the Centre. The day compliments the School ReadY program by encouraging children to make healthy food choices and prepare for school
Kindy make your own lunch day: Each month, the children make their own lunch under the guidance of educators and a food coordinator

Our routine is flexible with a mix of planned learning experiences and child-led activities. Here’s a guide to what a usual day looks like:

6:30-8:00am Centre opens, family grouping
6:30-7:30am Breakfast
8:00-9:00am Separate into individual rooms, morning tea
9:00-10:00am Outdoor exploration (weather and UV permitting)
10:00-11:00am Planned curriculum experiences (including the School ReadY Literacy and Language program in the Kindy room)
11:00am-12:00pm Lunch
12:00-1:00pm Rest time, quiet activities
1:00-2:00pm Planned curriculum experiences
2:00-2:30pm Afternoon tea
2:30-5:00pm Free-flow indoor/outdoor activities (weather and UV permitting)
5:00pm Family grouping, late snack
6:00pm Centre closes

Centre Director, Baldivis Early Learning Centre

Hi, I’m Amanda Broad, the Centre Director at Baldivis Early Learning Centre. I hold a Diploma in Children’s Services and have nearly 20 years’ experience working with children. I’m also a proud mother of two daughters. I lead a passionate team of educators, committed to providing an individualised approach to early education, where every child and family feels welcome, valued, and supported.

Our experience with the centre has been absolutely outstanding.

The educators are incredibly caring, proactive, and hands-on with the children. We’ve seen so much growth in my children – both educationally and socially – and it’s clear that the staff put genuine effort into creating a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment. The meals provided are another huge highlight – they are nutritious, well-planned, and thoroughly prepared, which gives us so much peace of mind. The communication is excellent, and we always feel supported and informed. We’re truly grateful for the dedication and passion shown by the entire team.
