CENTRE PHILOSOPHY

At Bunbury ELC, we exist to create opportunities for children to flourish and grow in body, mind and spirit – building the foundations they need for school, for relationships and for life.

Our purpose is to ensure every child who learns with us develops the wellbeing, confidence and capabilities they need to flourish now and into the future.

DEVELOPING SCHOOL READINESS

We offer an evidence-based School ReadY program in our Kindy room. Designed for children ages 3 to 5, the program builds essential literacy, language, social-emotional, and numeracy skills, helping them flourish at school and in life. A Literacy Specialist partners with the team and provides regular coaching to strengthen delivery of the School ReadY program.

Our routine is flexible with a mix of planned learning experiences and child-led activities. Here’s a guide to what a usual day looks like:

6:30-9:00am Gentle arrivals, bottles or breakfast, cosy play
9:00-11:00am Sensory play, indoor/outdoor exploration
11:00am-2:00pm Lunch, bottles, restful nap time, and School ReadY Literacy and Language program in the Kindy room
2:00-4:00pm Soft play and indoor/outdoor exploration
4:00-6:00pm Preparing for the end of the day, indoor/outdoor play, and family grouping
6:00pm Centre closes
