PHILOSOPHY & APPROACH

CENTRE PHILOSOPHY

At Tambrey ELC, we exist to create opportunities for children to flourish and grow in body, mind and spirit – building the foundations they need for school, for relationships and for life.

Our purpose is to ensure every child who learns with us develops the wellbeing, confidence and capabilities they need to flourish now and into the future.

DEVELOPING SCHOOL READINESS

We offer an evidence-based School ReadY program in our Kindy room. Designed for children ages 3 to 5, the program builds essential literacy, language, social-emotional, and numeracy skills, helping them flourish at school and in life. A Literacy Specialist partners with the team and provides regular coaching to strengthen delivery of the School ReadY program.

DAILY ROUTINE

DISCOVER A DAY AT OUR CENTRE

Our routine is flexible with a mix of planned learning experiences and child-led activities. Here’s a guide to what a usual day looks like:

  • 7:00am Centre opens
  • 7:00-9:30am Family Grouping in the outdoor yards
  • 9:00am-3:00pm Room routines to support activities, play, nappies/toileting, sleep/rest and meals times (including the School ReadY Literacy and Language program in the Kindy room)
  • 3:00-6:00pm Family Grouping in the outdoor yards
  • 6:00pm Centre closes

Mealtime routines:

  • 0-2 years: 9:00am morning tea, 11:00am lunch, and 2:00pm afternoon tea
  • 2-3 years: 9:30am morning tea, 11:30am lunch, and 2:00pm afternoon tea
  • 3+ years: 10:00am morning tea, 12:00pm lunch, and 2:30pm afternoon tea

Centre Director, Tambrey Early Learning Centre

Hi, I’m Jacqui Mills, the Centre Director at Tambrey Early Learning Centre. I hold a Certificate III and a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and have over 17 years’ experience in the childcare industry. I have spent the past eight years at Tambrey ELC, including five years in the Centre Director role, and my passion for championing children continues to grow every day. I’m proud to celebrate the outstanding work of my team and the positive impact we create for the children in our care.
