CENTRE PHILOSOPHY

At Yappara House ELC, we exist to create opportunities for children to flourish and grow in body, mind and spirit – building the foundations they need for school, for relationships and for life.

Our purpose is to ensure every child who learns with us develops the wellbeing, confidence and capabilities they need to flourish now and into the future.

DEVELOPING SCHOOL READINESS

We offer an evidence-based School ReadY program in our Kindy room. Designed for children ages 3 to 5, the program builds essential literacy, language, social-emotional, and numeracy skills, helping them flourish at school and in life. A Literacy Specialist partners with the team and provides regular coaching to strengthen delivery of the School ReadY program.

  • Our routine is flexible, with a mix of planned learning experiences and child-led activities
  • Family group time in the mornings and afternoons, where siblings and children of different ages socialise and enjoy time together
  • Indoor and outdoor play to begin and end the day (weather and UV permitting), giving children the chance to explore our natural garden setting and large outdoor yard

Hi, I’m Leeanne Coombes, the Centre Director at Yappara House Early Learning Centre. I hold a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and have been working with children for more than 20 years. I aim to create an environment where every child at Yappara House feels seen, safe, and heard, so they can flourish. I love what I do every day and take pride in leading a team of passionate educators who love their job as much as I do.
