Program Overview

Drumbeat is an evidence-based, 10-week youth program for primary school students ages 10 to 12 (Years 5 and 6).

Delivered by Drumbeat-qualified youth workers, the program uses engaging drum rhythms alongside guided discussions to explore key topics such as relationships, communication, identity, and respect.

Drumbeat is proudly funded by Communities for Children.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Participants will:

  • Play Djembe drums
  • Take part in discussions on relationships, communication, identity, and respect
  • Receive a certificate of participation and a gift pack at completion of the program

WHAT TO BRING

  • Nothing! Just bring yourself and your enthusiasm
  • All drums, activities, and support are provided

HOW TO GET INVOVLED

  • Schools interested in the Drumbeat program can express interest via email
  • Participating schools select students by completing the required referral and consent forms
  • Note: Drumbeat is not open for individual sign-ups
