Our Serpentine Jarrahdale Community Recreation Centre has won a national award at the AUSactive Awards on Friday 11 September 2026, taking home the People’s Choice Award for Medium Sized Business of the Year.
The award celebrates the Centre’s contribution to the health, fitness and wellbeing of its local community, and recognises outstanding people, businesses, programs and suppliers making a meaningful impact across Australia’s active health, fitness and wellness industry.
Recreation Centre Manager Nicole Little said the national recognition was a wonderful reflection of the team’s commitment to creating a welcoming place for everyone.
“Winning the People’s Choice Award is an incredible achievement and a wonderful recognition of the team’s commitment to our community” Ms Little said.
“What makes the Centre so special is the diversity of people who walk through our doors every day. From babies experiencing our crèche for the first time, to children learning new skills, young people playing sport, adults working towards their health and fitness goals and seniors staying active and connected, there is something here for everyone.“
“Our goal is to create an environment where people feel welcome, supported and encouraged to flourish, and this award is a great reflection of the passion our team brings to that every day.”
A true centre for everyone, the Serpentine Jarrahdale Community Recreation Centre is a hub for people of all ages and stages of life, with families able to engage with the Centre from as early as 8 weeks old.
The national People’s Choice win highlights the breadth of the Serpentine Jarrahdale Community Recreation Centre’s role within the Byford community – not simply as a place to exercise, but as a community hub supporting connection, participation and wellbeing across generations.
Congratulations to Nicole and the whole team on this fantastic achievement!
